Database of dynamic structures

Welcome

Welcome on  'Dynasearch'! This database is developed by researchers of the Technology Cluster Construction (Structural Mechanics unit of KAHO Sint-Lieven, Ghent) and the Structural Mechanics Division of the Department of Civil Engineering of KU Leuven. This database gives an overview of the case studies investigated in the research projects TRICON (2009-2012) and OPTRIS (2012-2014), financed by IWT within the TeTra-framework (92.5%) and a number of companies (7.5%).

This database focuses on structures susceptible to human-induced vibrations such as long span floors, slender footbridges, lightweight stairs, and crowded stadia. For these structures the vibration serviceability assessment has become an important design issue. The assessment is performed by an evaluation of the predicted vibration levels and comparison with the relevant acceptance levels.
